A Special Needs Advisor goes beyond what a regular advisor does.

1. Creating a financial plan: A Special Needs Advisor can help create a comprehensive financial plan that includes the costs of caring for a child with special needs. They can help identify sources of funding and develop a budget that can help the family achieve their financial goals.

2. Special Needs Trust: A Special Needs Advisor can help set up a special needs trust to protect assets for the benefit of the child with special needs. This type of trust can help ensure that the child's needs are met and that they continue to qualify for government benefits.

3. Estate Planning: A Special Needs Advisor can help a special needs parent plan their estate, including drafting a will, selecting beneficiaries, and setting up guardianship. They can also help ensure that the estate plan is updated as the child's needs change over time.

4. Government benefits: A Special Needs Advisor can help a special needs parent navigate the complex world of government benefits. They can help the family understand eligibility requirements and assist with the application process.

5. Tax Planning: A Special Needs Advisor can help a special needs parent understand the tax implications of caring for a child with special needs. They can help the family identify tax deductions and credits that can help reduce the family's tax burden.

6. Investment strategies: A Special Needs Advisor can help a special needs parent develop an investment strategy that aligns with their financial goals and risk tolerance.

7. Retirement planning: A Special Needs Advisor can help a special needs parent plan for their retirement while also ensuring that they are able to provide for their child's future needs.

Fiduciary Responsibility

At Greater Promise Financial,LLC,  A fiduciary duty is the highest standard of care one party can owe to another. When it comes to an investment advisor, being a fiduciary means that we are legally and ethically bound to act in the best interests of our clients. This duty requires us as advisors to prioritize our clients' interests above our own and to provide advice and recommendations that are solely aimed at benefiting our client.

Here's a breakdown of what being a fiduciary entails for an investment advisor:

  1. Putting Clients First: A fiduciary investment advisor must always prioritize the best interests of their clients when making recommendations or managing their investments. This means recommending investments that are suitable for the client's financial situation, risk tolerance, and investment objectives, rather than ones that may generate higher commissions or fees for the advisor.
  2. Avoiding Conflicts of Interest: Fiduciary advisors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may arise from their recommendations or business practices. They are required to manage these conflicts in a way that ensures they do not interfere with their ability to act in the client's best interests. If a conflict cannot be avoided, it must be fully disclosed to the client, who can then make an informed decision.
  3. Acting with Prudence: Fiduciary advisors are expected to exercise diligence, care, and skill in managing their clients' investments. This includes conducting thorough research, monitoring the performance of investments, and adjusting strategies as needed to adapt to changing market conditions or client circumstances.
  4. Providing Full Disclosure: Fiduciary advisors are obligated to provide clients with all relevant information about their services, fees, compensation structure, potential conflicts of interest, and any other factors that may impact the client's investment decisions. This transparency enables clients to make informed choices and understand the implications of their investment decisions.

 Integrity, Honesty, and Loyalty

By adhering to this standard, fiduciary advisors aim to build trust and confidence with their clients, knowing that their financial well-being is always the top priority.
